SUMMARY:Homeless Clothing Drop-off
DESCRIPTION:It's that time of year again! Let's come together and make a difference with our second annual winter clothing drive! All donations will go to Minneapolis Recreation Development\, Inc. whose mission is to serve the poor\, vulnerable youth\, and families in need. A few ways they help to serve the 10\,000+ homeless adults and children of Minneapolis is by providing sandwiches\, "energy packs" and bus tokens so they may have a place to be warm after the shelters close or are full.\n\n\n\nItems needed include blankets\, scarfs\, coats\, gloves\, hats\, boots\, shoes\, sweatshirts\, thermal shirts\, lined pants\, ear muffs\, hand warmers\, socks and travel size shampoo/conditioner. Basically\, anything to help keep warm in the winter months. \n\n\n\nAllan expressed need for "energy packs" which is a small bag of mixed snacks such as pretzels\, crackers\, nuts\, etc. We would like to collect these items at least a couple days prior to the event so we can assemble them into individual bags. \n\n\n\nItems for all ages welcome. \n\n\n\n* Please help us by putting items in a fastened garbage bag. \n\n\n\nPlease send a PM or post on the event page with what location you will be at and about how many bags you will be dropping off so we can plan accordingly.\n\n\n\nDrop off locations/info: \n\n-Kilkarney Hills Golf Course: through December 9 (Contact Jeni to coordinate a time)\n\n- 1st pickup: Target parking lot in Hudson\, WI on December 11th at 1pm\n\n- 2nd pickup: Cabela's in Woodbury\, MN at 2:30pm\n\n\n\nWe will have a U-Haul parked in the back corner of the Target parking lot and the side lot of Cabela's. Just look for the U-Haul\, drive up and unload! \n\n\n\nIf you are unable to make the drop off locations and times\, please send a PM and we will do our best to coordinate an alternative time to meet with you.\n\n\n\nDon't have winter clothing to donate? Monetary donations can be made via Paypal using the link below.
