Description
"International Perspective on Women in Science" will be the theme of the AAUW program to be held on January 14 at the River Falls Public Library in the lower level meeting room. Presenters will be Dr. Ramona Gunter, a lecturer at UW-River Falls, and Miss Jae Eun You, a chemical engineering student from South Korea. Both presenters will discuss the importance of women entering science fields.
A highlight of the program will be the introduction of the winners of AAUW's annual "Woman in Science" essay contest. The four winners are 8th students from Meyer Middle School and St. Bridgit's School each of whom selected a woman who made an impact in her science field, completed research about the individual and wrote an essay about her. The winners will each receive a certificate and a cash award.
The public is invited to attend.
